Carlos Motta - ESD's "Chaplain"

Our church in Ceiba, La Primera Iglesia Bautista de Ceiba, had it’s 25th anniversary Sunday April 18, 2010. We had a great day!  There were 33 people saved and 10 baptisms.  Among the baptized was Kevin and Kristian, students at ESD now,  and Sonia the wife of Victor Caraballo a former student of ESD.  We also had other deaf from Las Piedras.  The deaf choir sang in the evening service.  Among the founders of the church 25 years ago we had some of the deaf in that group,  Ilsia Carasquillo, Carlos Negron (ESD), Lydia Motta (ESD). December 2008

My dear family and friends:

I would like to take this special time of the year to wish you a Happy Christmas.  This year we have faced challenges and victories. We all know that things are not so great in the world but the Lord reminds us,  “In the world ye shall have tribulations: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”   John 16:33b

The 24th of December I will be directing a cantata at our church titled,  “Glory to God in the Highest.”  The choir has practiced a lot and we hope to give a good presentation with God’s help.  I am very proud for the choir.

This year, Lydia went to Durham, NC for the birth of our grandson, Josiah Daniel Motta born, 17 October.  Lydia has attended all three births. We are very happy.  Our son’s ministry God has prospered.  The next Pastor’s school where thousand come he will be giving a class.

I am still interpreting in Fajardo helping the deaf.  I still work in our deaf ministry.  I have a new project this year.  It is making a DVD with the following title,  “Why am I a Christian and not a Jehovah Witness” in sign language, ASL.  It will be a challenge pray for me.

My mother had her 87th birthday and doing well.  Sometime she complains to the doctor and the doctor tells her what more do you want for 87.  My father is pretty good but he forgets a lot.

I still run the Turkey race at work.  I once again won in my category I’m the only one at 59 years.  I also won a young lady that participated, praise God.

I am sending photos of the family, hope you enjoy them.  A thought to finish:  That the baby Jesus, with his infinite love and kindness illuminate your home and fill it with goodness and blessings.
