We did our first ever TRIP to the STATES September 18 - October 6, 2008.  WOW!

We spent many hours preparing for our trip. Our music included As The Deer, We Will Glorify, I Love You Lord, Seek Ye First, How Great Thou Art, Winner's March, Shout to the Lord, and Shine Jesus Shine.

Our driver and photographer was Jim O'Brien, on loan from his family in San Dimas California.

 

 

First stop was to see Margaret Upperman at her home and eat too much there.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Saturday we relaxed in NYC!

 

 

 

Our first performance was at Calvary Baptist Church in Oceanport New Jersey.

 

 

 

 That afternoon, we presented our ministry at Second Baptist Church, Asbury Park New Jersey.

Monday we took the day off to do some tourist stuff:

Our next engagement was Wednesday evening at Hope Grace Brethren Church in Dillsburg PA

Thursday we visited Bible Baptist Academy in Shiremanstown PA.  That night we made mountain pies with Dave and Kathy Zimmerman. Another FIRST for all of us!

Friday we visited the Sight and Sound Theater for their presentation of IN THE BEGINNING.

 

 

 Jen Wilson drove from Ontario with their three kids - Katie, Sarah and Jeffrey - to meet us!  Phil flew in that evening.  It was SO GOOD to meet up with these wonderful people once again.

 

We hope some day to visit their home!

 

 

 

 

Saturday, we went to a ladies' tea and then we spent the afternoon with the Wilsons playing and enjoying a relatively rainy day.

 

Sunday we did a presentation in Calvary Bible Church, Hanover PA Sunday school program.  It was great to meet my young prayer team.

 

 

 

Monday we went to Gallaudet University and Arlington National Cemetary.

 

Tuesday we went to Carlisel Christian Academy and they to the Brethren Home at Cross Keys (where Betsy Hoke worked as a teenager) to play for the residents and some friends from that area of the state.

 

 

Wednesday we visited the Shepherd's Fold and then practiced a lot and then attended AWANA!

. 

Thursday we visited a friend's classroom and then carved pumpkins to be jack-o-lanterns. For all of the students, this was their first pumpkin carving experience.

 

 

 

 

 

Friday, we went to Washington DC and visited monuments and museums. We were joined by Nicole Dunbar and Laurie Teel and Troy Brown for this trip.

 

Saturday we went to Gettysburg and climbed around Devil's Den with Sally, Martin and Ruth Hoke.  Then we met the Westminster Ringers for a wonderful learning experience.

              

Sunday we finally got to the presentation that was the impetus for our trip - the World Awareness Conference at Calvary Bible Church in Hanover PA.

 

Monday we left the States and returned to Puerto Rico.  We all cheered in the airport to be home again!
