What's changed
preparing for back to school!
A work team from the First Baptist Church of Freeport Illinois came to serve for a day in preparation of the beginning of our new school year.  THANK YOU!

The ESD team has been doing some activities which are building team unity.
- staff retreat

-a shopping trip to purchase school supplies -
ok, we stopped for piraguas on the way!
-doing cleaning and some woodwork-and just relaxing together

Betsy, Judy, Elizabeth and Jen - the 2010 ESD team

The Ridgewood Bible Church team and the ESD gang!

Our attempt at doing the News!

FIRST DAY!!!     AUGUST 9,2010

First chapel. Led by our volunteers from Ridgewood Bible Church.

Jen and her little boys.

Meredith and Larimar help with the singing.

Elizabeth and our newest little student, Gabi the hearing boy. (Gabi is the younger brother to our students Kioney and Saul.)

Judy and our visitor Linda who knows things working on IEPs.

How many New Yorkers does it take to fix lunch?

More than it takes to assemble and install a ceiling fan!

And then someone made a bamboo marimba :-)

The last week of August!
Classrooms are in full operational status.

A first workteam from Columbus State Community College under the leadership of Royce Carpenter and Leticia Diaz came to ESD.
The interpreting students worked in the kitchen and classrooms as they practiced and honed their expressive and receptive skills with our kids (and us!)

New student Edwin (standing) accepted Christ in Thursday 26 August after Carlos Motta's weekly chapel time.  He also is working on our old lawn tractor and almost had it forward moving!
